Boys & Girls Club of Venice

Girls PACT (Pregnancy Against Childbearing Teens) had a “Movie Night” on Friday, March 23rd – Crazy, Stupid Love – as a fundraiser for the group. Angela & Body Inspired Fitness boot campers sponsored the event and donated healthy meals & snacks to enjoy while watching the movie. Thank you to our amazing boot campers for helping raise funds to support girls PACT! Thank you for being apart of our group, our community, and our lives! We love you!
The purpose of Girls PACT is to educate & motivate young women to be confident in their relationships, decisive in their choices and accountable for their actions.

Smart Girls – As some of you may know Angela is a huge fan and supporter of The Boys & Girls Club of Venice. Especially their girls programs that are organized & run by Michelle Shedga. Michelle is always trying to find new ways to inspire the girls at the club to get fit, become more aware, and truly change their lives through unique and enriching opportunities and experiences.
With Angela’s help finding different, exciting, and motivating facilitators, Michelle’s program, “Smart Girls,” was a huge success! Each week, for 8 weeks, sessions included dancing, drug abuse education (educating the girls about common/trendy recreational drugs right now, what they are, why people use, effects of each drug, long-term effects, treatment options), & a “Fashion Do’s & Don’ts Party.” Through these sessions the young women felt empowered by learning about themselves and how to make SMART decisions, while addressing problems & concerns facing girls today!

Dove Movement for Self-Esteem Weekend
In 2010 & 2011 Angela participated in the Dove Movement for Self-Esteem Weekend at the Boys & Girls Club of Venice. It has always been Angela’s passion to help young adults recognize their full potential & to understand that they are beautiful just the way they are. In 2010 Angela led a group of 54 teenage girls through an upbeat dance workout with the mission was to inspire the girls to realize that exercise and getting in shape is fun! And to discover how strong they can be no matter what! In 2011, Angela organized & hosted the Dove Movement for Self-Esteem Weekend girls, giving the girls the opportunity to dance, create, and express themselves in an open environment with their peers and the unbelievable volunteers!
