The Picture Challenge
How can you turn a resolution into a way of life? I ask myself this question usually around this time of year. At one point, many years ago, I made a resolution to get in shape, to stay in shape, to eat better, and to be less inhibited to try new things. It’s amazing how many people I talk to are going through that same process. You’ve made the decisions, but how do you follow through?
I find that signing up for bootcamp, as many of you have, helps. But what else can you do? I’ve encouraged you to bring the intention to show up to every bootcamp, to give it 100%, but also to challenge yourself more. I know it’s a lot, but if you can honestly say that you did your best, then what would it hurt to try a little more. It’s not comfortable, but what if you brought heavier weights? Ran the stairs a little faster? Allowed your jogs to make you breathless? How terrible would that be?
I know there are limitations to everyone’s workout, whether it be a legitimate medical problem or lack of experience. You know what YOU can do, and I think you can do better. I also know that if you have an event, like a wedding or a vacation in a hot climate, that you will work your ass off just a little harder. So why not attack this bootcamp with the same vigor?
Yes, you have met my challenges in the past, so I’m going to offer you one more: today take a picture of yourself. Screw it, get down to your skivvies. What do you want to improve? I know you can do it! If you want to track your progress more aggressively, take a picture of yourself every Monday for the next six weeks. LOOK AT YOURSELF. What do you want from YOU?
I believe that if you are watching yourself, staying in your own body, and tracking your progress, there is no reason that you won’t get what you want. Avoiding mirrors and seeing your own body by focusing on the things you want from other people’s bodies will only hurt you.
You are beautiful. You are strong. You can do it. Look at you, you’ve come this far, what’s a little further?
My boot camper sent this to me& I just had to share her success! SHE DID IT! Her goal was to fit into this outfit & now, after boot camp, SHE CAN! I must say…not only does she look smokin’ hot, her weight loss journey is a great inspiration to ANYONE who wants to make a healthy change & to stick with it! THIS CAN BE YOU!
